Happy Dollars
Rollie Sterrett had $5 for 50 years of marriage but not to the same woman. He was married to his first wife for 18 years. He and Karen just celebrated their 32nd anniversary. Rollie also supplied us with an update on his continuing joke saga of Maurice.

Nancy Nation was elated that her granddaughter was going to be married tomorrow and that Nancy was co-officiating at the ceremony.

Bill Barnes had $2 for two somewhat related items of interest. He and Pat have been married for 60 years and recently retraced their honeymoon in New Hampshire and Mt. Washington. The other item was a stop to see a brand new car dealership on their way home. Bill had a model of the car (in pink). The car in question was the brand new Edsel from Ford released on September 4, 1957.

Foundation Committee Chair, Joanne Santiago, announced that contributions to the Rotary Foundation were doing very well this year.  In celebration three members received Paul Harris Fellowships this morning. Greg DeManche received his second award PHF +1.  Ted Cowles received a PHF +3.

Joanne called Steve Morris, one of our newest members to the front to receive his first Paul Harris Fellowship pin and medallion.  Steven had to go on his knees so that Joanne could put his PHF pin on his lapel.

Presentation

George Greyson
Home Energy Inspections

George has been in the renewable energy business for quite some time. He has recently moved into the home energy inspection business. George has a passion for living more green. He said that we should all get a home energy inspection to increase the value of our homes, improve efficiency and save money.

George lead us through a very lengthy PowerPoint explaining all the engineering and science behind energy loss and what steps to take to reduce or remove problems.

George will be sending us a copy of his presentation to post in a future newsletter. The presentation was far to detailed to transcribe each nuance.

George was joined by his associate, Paul, who did the question and answer portion of the presentation.  He stated the we spend about $5500 per year on energy in our homes. About 75% of that energy is lost due to inefficiency.

Paul was so enthusiastic with all the wonderful projects that we Rotarians were doing, he offered a FREE home energy inspection to every club member.

“The Four-Way Test of the things we think, say or do”:

1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all Concerned?
3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
