Bob Cave reported that he had a great river cruise in southern France.
Gary Miller noted that he new of our guest, because when he was with the Canton Schools he turned down a request from x's father concerning the bus pickup location. He also talked about the dealing with range anxiety on a trip up to his alma mater in Hanover, NH. It sounded like the anxiety was justified as he only had around a 20 mile differential between what he was able to gain in a charge while in NH and getting home. The reality was that he got the low battery warning before he got home and luckily found a gas station that had just installed a charger (and it was free).
Linda Pendergast is looking for "Bittersweet" to help decorate for the 50th Anniversary Dinner.
Jolly Lux reported how thrilled she was for the amazing evening that their fund raiser last Friday turned out to be. She gave a shout out to Don Bonner who donated a painting which they were able to auction off for $200. As well as to Cherie Morris for putting the silent auction together.

Tanzania Nursing Scholarship Program
King of Kings Nursery and Primary School Program
Mission to Morocco and Project Soar
Cherie Morris
Our own club member Cherie reported on two programs that our Rotary has been involved in supporting, i.e the Tanzania Nursing Scholarship Program, and the King of Kings Nursery and Primary School Program. She also reported on a trip to Morocco that she went on to visit and support Project Soar and to provide supplies for disaster relief after the devastating earthquake in Morocco.
Cherie talked about supporting the Tanzania Nursing Scholarship Program, which aimed to provide education and medical support to young women in Tanzania. She discussed the Tanzania Nursing Scholarship Program and as an example their support for a young nurse named Jennifer. She also talked about their funding for the King of Kings Nursery and Primary School, which provides affordable education and meals to children from impoverished families in Uganda.
Cherie went on to discuss her trip to Morocco where she brought donations for earthquake victims and visited a nonprofit called Project SOAR. She shared how they provided supplies to villages in the mountains and felt uncomfortable taking pictures of the devastation. Cherie discussed her experience in Morocco, mentioning the limited availability of alcohol and the prevalence of Arabic as the primary language. She also highlighted the importance of Project SOAR, an organization focused on empowering marginalized adolescent girls through workshops, clubs, and dialogues to help them understand their value, rights, and path in life.
Cherie discussed the success of a program empowering girls in Uganda, Syria, and Rwanda, where parents were educated and involved in supporting their daughters. However, there was more resistance from men in certain areas such as the high atlas mountain region in Morocco.
Cherie discussed the cultural norms in Marrakesh, where women were required to cover their bodies but not necessarily their heads
