Gary Miller - congratulated Salin Low for doing "a great job" overseeing July 16th's Senior Luncheon. He added "it ended up perfect." Approximately 100 seniors from Avon and Canton participated. Gary also had a wonderful time with his children and grandchildren visiting. He took them to the airport yesterday.
Phil Ferrari - after today's meeting, Phil is flying to Alaska for a two week vacation.
Salin Low - thanked the Club members who volunteered to work at the Senior Luncheon. She thanked Chuck Joseph for donating all the food through his store, Shop Rite.
Capri Frank - was glad that Shawn Cole was attending the meeting. She thanked Salin Low for her leadership at the Senior Luncheon, adding she was happy to see some of the seniors dancing after the meal. Capri appreciates all the Club members and all the work they voluntarily put in.
Ted Cowles - attended a meeting of the Bloomfield Rotary last week. There, he enjoyed talking to longtime Avon-Canton member Phil Schenk. There was some gentle nudging to get Ted to join the Bloomfield Club now that he is living at Duncaster, but he wouldn't hear of it. In fact, Ted paid his Avon-Canton dues this morning.
Dale Bronson - reported that radio station FM 102 yesterday played nothing but songs featuring "rock 'n roll stars who ran afoul of the law." He added that "it made for a lot of good music." Dale detailed as well that he was going to Yankee Stadium that evening for the first game after the All Star break with the Yankees in first place.
Don Rossler - (Guest) Not only did Don used to belong to the Club, he is a former Past President who met his wife Nancy through Rotary. They now have twin boys who attend Avon High School. Don is thinking about rejoining the Club.
Hank Frey - had several Happy Dollars:
1. The Red Sox are starting the second half of their season tonight.
2. He remembers Don Rossler's wife Nancy fondly.
3. The Senior Luncheon was a success.
Shawn Cole - (Guest) Shawn reports that the "Collinsville Hot" event is now just one week away, and the volunteers are "getting it done." It is scheduled for July 25. Shawn stated "Collinsville has something for everybody."

Amber Alert
Tom Voorhees is looking for volunteers to help with the Amber Alert session at the "Collinsville Hot" event (July 25). Coverage is needed from 11 to 3. See Tom to sign up.
Avon Day
Steve Harris needs volunteers for Avon Day which is scheduled for September 26.
The Dues Are Due
Robin DiNicola is now collecting annual dues for 2015-1016 Rotary year. Dues this year are $150. They must be paid by July 31st in order to remain in good standing with the Club.
Golf Tournament
Thor Cheyne asserted that Nancy Nation is "working diligently' on the tournament. Fifty-five golfers have signed up, but 155 are needed. Thor reminded members that the Early Bird Discount ends July 31. Sponsors are still needed as well.
Pub Night
Mark your calendar for the August Rotary Pub Night at the Seasons Restaurant Tap Room, Avon Old Farms Hotel. It will be 4 - 7 pm, more or less, on Wednesday, August 4 and free hors d'oeuvres will be provided. (RPN now alternates between Tuesday and Wednesday each month to accommodate Rotarians who can participate on one of those days but not the other.

Raffle items for the Golf Tournament are coming in, although not at the speed I'm used to from the past few years. I'm asking all Rotarians to reach out to their contacts, friends, and associates... If everyone could secure just one item, we'd be in great shape! Items like gift certificates, gift baskets, tickets to events, and even items like handbags, jewelry, electronics, etc. are just a few ideas for raffle items. We'd also love to get some golf items, so if anyone knows where to get them, please reach out. Letters soliciting donations from all past donors went out in early June, so if you have any questions about the status of a donor you've solicited in the past, please feel free to reach out to me.
I'm also looking for some people who can help me follow up on the letters that went out. (We sent out more than 230 letters and I can't possibly call them all myself!) I will happily supply you with a copy of the letter we sent out and a list of potential donors to call. The personal touch of a follow up call almost always results in more donations, so this step is key! Please contact me if you can help with this step.

I'm looking for speakers for the coming months. I have July 31st open, but might have someone. I'm definitely interested if you have a program in mind for that date. We also have August 28 and all of September open.
Please give some thought to finding interesting topics and programs. Presentations about hobbies, groups you belong to etc. would be great. Other than selling or marketing a product or service and Rollie's fish pictures, we are very open to most subjects. Steve Roberto's wine tasting program is a good example of something a little different than our norm, but a really well received program.

District Golf Tournament
Will your club have the most foursomes?
You are cordially invited to attend the District 7890 Golf Outing on Monday, August 3, 2015 at Twin Hills Country Club in Longmeadow, MA. Have a great afternoon of golfing, fellowship, great food and fun all for the price of $125 – the same as last year.
Registration starts at 10:00 am
A barbeque lunch will be served at 11:30 am with a shotgun start at 12: 30 pm
Reception, cash bar, dinner, ice cream bar and raffle at 5:30 pm
For non-golfers dinner is $35
