Robin DiNicola - detailed that her son Joe is working in Virginia.
Don Bonner - shared that his daughter Sarah will arrive back in Avon exactly one month from today's meeting. She has been working in Central America for the Peace Corps. He also joked about getting sticky hands today because somebody got maple syrup on the cream dispenser.
Phil Worley - met with the Club's newest member, Heather Pandano. She has agreed to join Phil on the publicity committee. He joked that the Publicity Committee has now doubled in size.
Joanne Santiago - had a Happy Dollar for today's birthday celebrants and a Happy Dollar for America's Birthday.
Capri Frank - had several Happy Dollars:
1. Shawn Cole is visiting the Club today.
2. Bill and Gary have birthdays tomorrow.
3. Her friend who recently had a heart attack had surgery yesterday. The "doctors were able to help her."
4. Many Club members were wearing red, white and blue in honor of July 4th.
Nancy Nation - read two thank you notes from students at the Wish School. They were thankful that the Club had donated the money to transport them to Nomads for a day of fun. The trip was a reward to the students for doing well on their recent testing. Nancy outlined that she is "getting better every week."
Phil Ferrari - had "four dollars for the Fourth." His plans for the weekend include a trip to Tanglewood to see James Taylor.
Kurt Lux - travels a lot and visits many ARC chapters who help persons with disabilities find vocational placements. He sees "staff with passion serving clients with passion." Kurt says it's exciting.
Jolly Lux - updated about Christine, the six year old girl who needed back surgery just to have a chance of ever walking again. Jolly has just heard that Christine is standing and walking on her own. The Club donated towards Christine's surgery. Jolly also thanked Capri Frank for her ongoing encouragement.
Dale Bronson - thanked Kurt Lux for bringing in several books about The New York Yankees for Dale to borrow. He also reminisced about July 4, 1983 when he saw the Yankees' Dave Righetti no-hit the Red Sox. Wade Boggs struck out to complete the no-hitter.
Phil Worley - welcomed our guest Shawn Cole. He wished Gary and Bill a Happy Birthday. He commended Robin and Mike on the smooth transition at the Sergeant-At-Arms position.
Shawn Cole - (Guest) Shawn's son celebrates his birthday tomorrow. Shawn is putting together a new event called Collinsville Hot. It will take place on July 25.
Gary Miller - is one grandchild away from having all of his family in town at the same time.
Paul Mikkelson - recently played in the Simsbury Rotary Golf Tournament.

From Salin Low: Avon-Canton Senior Luncheon
The Luncheon is coming up soon, and I want to get this on your calendars and start to finalize the help for the Seniors' Luncheon. The senior citizens of Avon and Canton have an indoor picnic and a lot of fun. We also have a lot of fun picking up, cooking and serving the food. (And don't forget you get lunch and a makeup for participating!)

Pub Night
Dear Rotarians:
Our next Rotary Pub Night (RPN) is this evening, July 7, 4 - 6 pm at Crown and Hammer, 3 Depot St., Collinsville.
As you have heard a few times, RPN is all about socializing, networking and getting to know your fellow Rotarians and their guests better. Bring your spouses, significant others, partners, friends, prospective Rotarians, etc.
You may, of course, come and go whenever you want to. Should you wish to eat before, during or after RPN, there are plenty of choices; click here for the menu.
Also, mark your calendar for the August Rotary Pub Night at the Seasons Restaurant Tap Room, Avon Old Farms Hotel. It will be 4 - 7 pm, more or less, on Wednesday, August 4 and free hors d'oeuvres will be provided. (RPN now alternates between Tuesday and Wednesday each month to accommodate Rotarians who can participate on one of those days but not the other.

Golf Tournament
Nancy informed the Club that 4 checks were turned in at this meeting. She termed that "fantastic." She reminded that this year's rallying cry is "Sooner Than Later." She urged everyone to get their ads and golfer registrations in SOONER THAN LATER.
Club Day
President Gary asserted that the Club will continue to hold a Club Day one Friday of every month during his presidency. The July Club Day will be held in two weeks, on the 17th. Gary intends to spend 5 - 10 minutes at each Club Day talking about International Rotary News.
Community Service Committee
Paul Mikkelson reminded all that the Community Service Committee would be meeting at the completion of today's regular meeting.
