Presentation
Farmington Woods

Bill Barnes introduced Bob Elwood, the General Manager of Farmington Woods (FW), a planned community with which the Club has had a long relationship, including numerous Golf Tournaments and President's Dinners.
Bob has managed communities in Aruba, Snowshoe Mountain and other notable locations. He says his job duty is to "get everything right in the community and then promote it internally and externally." Bob likens being the general manager of a planned community to being the mayor of a small town.
The powerpoint presentation is typical of what Bob would show to realtors. It contains many bits of information about FW, including:
* There are 1084 condos at FW.
* FW has been developing since 1970.
* It takes 55 employees to keep FW running the way it should.
* Residents are involved in the governance of FW.
* FW is in the process of re-roofing every condo.
* The golf course is considered a "Championship Course," and its infrastructure is undergoing many improvements.
Bob had a chart showing that, at "$300 plus per month," FW's condo fees are the lowest in the area.
Farmington Woods is partly in Avon and partly in Unionville. During the discussion that followed, Ann Clark, who is Avon's Democratic Registrar of Voters, shared that there have been newly moved-in FW residents who tried to register to vote in Avon only to find out that they actually live in Unionville.
