Happy Dollars
Bill Barnes - reminded all that The Farmington Valley Symphony Orchestra would be performing December 12 at Canton High School.
Rollie Sterrett - reviewed the wager that he and Paul Mikkelson had on the UConn-Colgate women's basketball game. Paul, who was backing UConn, won the bet. As a result, Rollie put $20 in the Happy Dollar basket. Rollie shared with members some "Colgate Quick Facts" and urged everyone to watch the Colgate football team play in the quarter finals of the Division I AA tournament.
Paul Mikkelson - reviewed the wager from his perspective and gave Rollie a bottle of Old Grand Dad Whiskey to "to drink when it's cold at Colgate."
Ben Dunning - shared that the toy drive in the Region #10 School District brought in 536 toys. Ben stated he is "proud of the kids."
Hank Frey - thanked everyone for their participation in the Salvation Army Bell Ringing. The Club's most recent bell ringing brought in over $2500. The Club will be ringing again on December 19th.
Alan Nasson - thanked everyone for their support over the last several weeks.
Robin DiNicola - appreciates the work Hank Frey puts in coordinating the bell ringing at WalMart. She also detailed that her friend who had been very sick is now happy and healthy thanks to treatments she had in Houston.
Don Bonner - outlined several Happy Dollars:
* The Salvation Army Holiday Store donation will take place after the Club's December 18th meeting. WTIC disk jockey Ray Galloway will be on the air as the Club presents its contribution. The Canton High School Choir will sing at our meeting and then on the radio. It's not too late for members to give towards this.
* Longtime Avon-Canton member Connie Thamm sends greetings from Hyannis.
* A friend of Don's who is an internationally successful concert pianist may speak and concertize at a Club meeting in February.
Salin Low - pointed out proper nomenclature dictates that last year's NCAA basketball champions be called the UConn Women; not the UConn Girls.
As Immediate Past President, Salin also announced the 2015-'16 slate of Club Officers, as proposed by the Club's Past Presidents:

Secretary - Mike Mezheritskiy
Sargeant-at-Arms - Heather Pantano
At Large - Craig Buhrendorf
At Large - Peter Vignati
The slate, as presented by Salin, was approved by acclamation.
Dale Bronson - as December 3rd was Dale's birthday, he presented his annual donation to the Rotary Foundation.
Larry Sullivan - told a funny joke.
Joanne Santiago - had Happy Dollars to honor those who are cancer survivors.
Gary Miller - enjoyed his trip last weekend to see the Holiday decorations in New York City. He stated that the light display at Sak's Fifth Avenue was "amazing." He and Debbie will celebrate Christmas the weekend of the 13th with their daughter in Pittsford, NY and then fly on to Louisiana to celebrate Christmas with their other daughter.

Scheduling Speakers
Ike Eikenhorst is now scheduling speakers for February and beyond. There are presentations scheduled every Friday through February 5th. Speakers are needed after that date, but keep in mind that the third Friday of each month is held aside for club business. Remember, business pitches are not allowed. Otherwise, persons with interesting jobs, hobbies, charitable activities, etc. will be welcome to present their stories. Presentations must not exceed 20 minutes.
Board Meeting Canceled
President Gary announced that the December 15 Board Meeting is cancelled.
The Holidays
Nancy Nation covered several developments:
* It's not too late to bring in kids books for the Town of Canton to distribute to needy families.
* Gifts are coming in for the first of our National Guard families. Nancy has their Wish List if you would like to review it.
* The wish list for our second National Guard Family has arrived. Nancy passed the list around so that members could sign up for specific items.
Canton Senior Holiday Party
The Canton Senior Center has inquired as to whether or not Club members would be interested in helping with a Holiday Party on December 17. Please contact Mark Steier if you are interested.
Breakfast With Santa

Diana Boorjian reviewed details for the Breakfast With Santa which was scheduled for December 12th from 8 to 11:30 at the Canton Community Center.
Rotary Pub Night
The next Rotary Pub Night will be Tuesday evening, January 5, 4 - 6 pm at Avon Old Farms Hotel. Alternating between Tuesdays and Wednesdays didn't yield the desired results, so we are going back to the first Tuesday of the month for all RPNs.
As you have heard a few times, RPN is all about socializing, networking and getting to know your fellow Rotarians and their guests better. Bring your spouses, significant others, partners, pen pals, friends, prospective Rotarians, etc.
Our February RPN will be February 2nd, 4 - 6 pm at the Saybrook Fish House in Canton.
