Steve Harris grew up in West Hartford, Connecticut and moved to Avon in 1977. He has lived there ever since. Steve graduated Kingswood-Oxford School in 1969 and attended the University of Virginia.
Steve was “fixed up” up with his wife Donna on a blind date, although they were in the same elementary school class together. They married in 1975 and have three daughters - Jennifer, Lauren and Katie and three grandchildren - Hanna, Trevor and Mason.
After selling office furniture for forty-two years, mostly in his family’s business, Steve retired in 2014.
Rotary of Avon-Canton has recognized Steve with two Paul Harris awards. His outside activities include coaching the Avon Middle School softball team for twenty-one years.
