Susan Budde was born in Reading, Pennsylvania and grew up in Southington, Connecticut. Since her marriage to her husband Bill sixteen years ago, she has lived in Avon. Sue has two stepchildren: Jessica, age twenty-nine and Ryan, age twenty-six. Jess is engaged to be married and will give birth to their first grandchild in May 2019.

Sue is one of the founders of Dog Star Rescue, an all breed dog rescue that started in 2014. To date they have placed over 2,000 abandoned, abused or neglected dogs into forever homes. She also chairs the Board of Christian Outreach at West Avon Congregational Church. Sue has been an Avon-Canton Rotarian since 2012 and serves on both the Community Service and Membership committees.

Sue received her Masters in Organizational Management from Central Connecticut State University. She worked as a buyer and project/facilities manager at AAA in West Hartford where she was responsible for purchasing everything from tow trucks to welcome mats and office supplies. She also facilitated office remodels and other building repairs. Sue is currently the office manager for the Canton Chamber of Commerce.

In her spare time, Sue enjoys scrapbooking and genealogy. She and Bill have a twelve-year old Scottish Terrier named Gracie.
